A 90-degree steel elbow request should connect the pipe route with a precise material and end arrangement. This product has Stainless Steel, Alloy and Carbon Steel choices, so identify the intended material before confirming the grade and construction required for the turn.
Locate the ninety-degree turn on the piping drawing
Provide the required turn angle, centerline radius and end positions relative to the adjoining pipes. Include any envelope or clearance restriction around the elbow. Confirm those dimensions for the selected configuration rather than assuming that a general elbow photograph establishes the angle or radius. The route drawing should describe the actual space occupied by the turn as well as the nominal sizes of its ends.
Define welding and thread requirements at the correct ends
Specify how each pipe interface must connect, with the relevant wall thickness and end preparation. If a G-thread requirement applies, identify the end and give its complete thread designation for confirmation. A welding label and a thread name do not define a complete connection pair by themselves. Keep the two end specifications together so the proposed elbow can be reviewed against both mating pipe interfaces.
Confirm A234 and construction for the chosen steel
State the required material specification and grade explicitly, including any A234 or seamless-construction requirement that needs confirmation. Obtain the applicable service rating for the selected material, wall and geometry, with the medium and design conditions included in the enquiry. A low-pressure or resistance descriptor does not establish a tested operating limit. Request the relevant material and construction documentation for that same elbow before accepting the proposed turn for service.
