The 80-inch carbon steel pipe-reducer enquiry names ASME/ANSI B16.9 and A234. Confirm the actual supplied size and applicable document scope before accepting a large-diameter transition or assigning operating capability to the named component.
Confirm supplied size before standard coverage
The actual variants are Reducer / Carbon Steel / DN150, DN125 and DN100. No additional 80-inch actual selection is established by the title. Obtain the exact nominal-size designations and measurement basis for the delivered large and small ends.
Agree the applicable B16.9 edition and component/size scope with dimensional conformity evidence. Repeated inch ranges for length, height and mounting-hole diameter cannot establish both end sizes or measured reducer geometry. A234 naming also needs accepted material scope and documentation.
Define the complete transition and joining system
Specify both outside diameters, bores, wall thicknesses, overall length, transition profile, alignment and tolerances. Choose the required concentric or eccentric arrangement explicitly, including any offset and installation orientation. The single DN choice does not supply that complete drawing.
Both viewed references show dark reducer forms with different apparent alignment. Their shapes cannot certify supplied size, grade, finish or concentric/eccentric delivery. Obtain the accepted end drawing and joining requirements, including welding preparation or thread details matched to the mating pipes.
Document material and operating acceptance
Carbon Steel requires a selected specification, grade, product form, condition and traceable inspection records. Forged needs evidence of actual manufacture independently of installation welding. Polished and corrosion-resistant descriptions do not define surface-protection chemistry or universal fluid compatibility.
Low Pressure provides no numerical operating limit, and Other class/application wording does not establish a selected service. Supply medium composition, pressure, temperature, cycling, flow and mechanical loads. Review actual size and complete geometry together with the accepted standards scope, material/manufacturing and surface records before complete-joint acceptance.
