An NPT hex nipple request needs a clear description of both mating connections. Stainless Steel, Alloy and Carbon Steel are separate choices for this product, so identify the required material and whether the two ends should be equal or reducing.
Draw the two nipple ends as a connection pair
State the nominal size and required thread designation at each end, with units and dimensional references included. For a reducing nipple, identify which end mates with each fitting instead of relying on a single size label. Confirm the actual connection form and NPT requirement for the selected part. The two-end drawing should establish the intended transition without assuming that a millimetre selector is an equivalent nominal thread size.
Locate the hex body within the available space
Provide the overall length, required engagement at each end and the dimensions of the hexagonal center. Include any access or clearance requirement around the mating fittings. Confirm the useful threaded lengths and the body arrangement together, so the nipple can be reviewed as one assembly component. A general length or height value should not replace the dimensions needed for the specific equal or reducing connection.
Specify the grade and surface requirement independently
Name the required grade within the chosen material family and identify the finish that the project requires. Any forging, coating or wall designation should be confirmed for that same nipple configuration. Include the medium and design pressure and temperature when requesting suitability confirmation, with relevant material and rating documentation. General high-pressure, resistance or flexibility labels cannot establish the performance of a particular material and thread arrangement, so the enquiry should keep those conditions tied to the proposed part.
