A dish-end pipe cap provides a closed end for a pipe connection. The cap title, type options and product image support a cap enquiry with a butt-weld requirement and stainless grades 304, 304L, 316 or 316L to specify. Select the actual profile, grade and dimensions needed for the pipe rather than treating the broad option labels as a complete fitting specification.

Define the dish profile and weld interface

Provide the mating pipe outside diameter and wall, then request a drawing showing cap connection diameter, overall depth, wall thickness and end preparation. Explain what the millimetre size option measures. If a custom dimension is needed, define it on the drawing and confirm acceptance for the selected model; a general custom-size label does not establish an agreed size or manufacturing capability.

Agree the grade and surface requirement

State the exact stainless grade, material specification and edition and request traceable material records. Alloy and carbon-steel alternatives need their own precise material designations. Describe the required finish and agree a surface acceptance criterion, since the source carries different finish labels. Neither a polished appearance nor a generic finish field establishes the supplied surface or its performance. Confirm manufacturing and inspection requirements through records linked to the item offered.

Check the closed end under actual duty

Identify the governing dimensional and material requirements and provide the fluid, operating pressure and temperature. Include joining, examination and acceptance criteria for the butt-weld connection so the cap wall and assembled closure can be assessed together. Generic head-code, mounting-hole and Pipe Class entries cannot replace a cap drawing or qualified joint evidence. A complete enquiry therefore links one dish profile and pipe interface to an exact grade, agreed finish and documented operating requirement.
