This stainless steel pipe enquiry is presented for industrial structures and prefab houses, with an A312 reference in the title. Seamless wording conflicts with the ERW table entry. Confirm the actual manufacturing route, grade and project requirements before selecting the pipe for a structural member.
Establish the stainless grade and production route
The title and grade field identify stainless steel, while the table also says Non-Alloy. Ask the supplier to clarify that classification using actual chemistry, grade and material condition records. No specific stainless grade should be inferred from the broad family description.
Resolve seamless versus ERW through the selected production and inspection documents. Obtain the applicable A312 edition, supplied-item scope, material properties, heat-treatment information where required and traceability. The title alone does not establish conformity or justify silently changing the table route.
Define the structural member and dimensional requirements
Identify the proposed member, spans, supports and connections within the industrial structure or prefab building. Provide wind and other relevant loads, environmental exposure and governing design requirements. A pipe standard reference does not independently establish structural load capacity or approval for the completed building.
Choose the exact outside diameter, wall and length from the listed 219–1066 mm diameter, 6–20 mm thickness and 6 m or 12 m length options. Agree the ±1% tolerance basis, straightness, ovality and end details. Confirm actual availability instead of treating the broad ranges as every possible combination.
Agree surface condition and purchase acceptance
Cold-rolled processing does not specify polishing, passivation or a protective coating. Define the surface and non-oiled preservation requirements for the intended environment. The fluid, drilling and EMT labels need separate role-specific review. Obtain actual certificate scope and agree inspections, project acceptance, actual-weight invoicing and confirmation of the 8–14-day delivery wording.
