This ASME B16.9 WP304L stainless steel equal-tee listing uses SCH5S and ambiguous “1 2inch” size wording. Actual choices instead list Carbon Steel or a234wpb with type Reducer. Resolve the supplied material and fitting shape before treating the title as an accepted procurement specification.
Confirm WP304L material and the actual tee geometry
Request component identity, the governing material document and edition, full grade, condition and traceability. Neither the stainless title nor the carbon-steel options supplies a material certificate. Do not substitute one material for the other without supplier confirmation and accepted records.
The table says Equal, while actual options say Reducer. Agree the delivered shape on a drawing with run/branch sizes, bores, outside diameters, center-to-end lengths, branch arrangement and tolerances. Clarify the Hexagon field and generic mounting-hole/thread entries against that component.
Resolve the size notation and SCH5S wall
Ask what “1 2inch” means instead of assuming a half-inch or two-inch nominal size. Confirm individual availability; the shared half-inch-to110-inch label is not a continuous supply guarantee. Allocate customized length/height values and actual wall dimensions/tolerances to the selected drawing.
Identify the B16.9 edition and accepted dimensional requirements. Confirm SCH5S and mating pipe wall, body manufacturing and evidence for FORGED. Welding attachment and welded-body construction need separate allocation. Agree end preparation and welding/inspection; Plain finish does not establish corrosion performance.
Establish project duty beyond the class label
Pipe Class1000 lacks a stated governing numerical basis, and High Pressure is qualitative. Specify medium, pressure, temperature, cycling, loads and compatibility for the intended shipbuilding, offshore, oilfield, water or gas project. Obtain fitting/joint approval and agree inspection, material/manufacturing/dimensional records, marking, supply, quotation and warranty/OEM terms.
