A two-piece pneumatic ball-valve enquiry should define the required body assembly, ball support and operating package as separate parts of one specification. Include any API 6D requirement with its applicable scope. The proposed valve then needs to be matched to the actual water, oil or gas medium and pipeline conditions. This approach makes the requested configuration clear before selection.
Two-Piece Body and Ball Support
Obtain section and assembly drawings for the selected model. Confirm the valve mechanism and whether the required ball arrangement is floating or trunnion-supported. If two-piece construction is essential, identify it on the assembly drawing. State the exact material grade for the body and ball separately, and define the seat and seal specifications. A combined carbon-steel and stainless-steel description does not identify the grade or material of each component.
Define Pneumatic Scope and API 6D Evidence
Clarify whether the enquiry covers only the valve or includes pneumatic operating equipment. Describe the operating sequence and control-air requirements so that the actuator scope can be assessed for the proposed assembly. If API 6D is required, state the applicable edition and request the relevant model-specific conformity and scope documents. Referencing the standard in an enquiry does not by itself establish conformity of a selected valve package.
Match the Connection and Named Medium
Compare flange facing, drilling, port and face-to-face dimensions with the pipeline drawing. Name the specific process medium and record the intended service temperatures and pressure conditions. Obtain sealing compatibility and the qualified pressure-temperature envelope for that configuration. Complete the enquiry with one model identifier, its internal support arrangement, component grades, operating package, connection drawing and standard evidence. Reviewing those items together provides the information needed to assess the proposed valve against the project duty.
