This 72-inch SCH30 forged carbon steel reducer enquiry names a welding connection and B16.9. Start with the actual supplied size and measured wall requirements; title wording does not establish a selectable large-diameter component or a certified schedule.
Establish size-specific wall and end geometry
The actual variants are Reducer / Carbon Steel / DN150, DN125 and DN100. Confirm the exact nominal-size designation and large/small end pair for delivery. The 72-inch enquiry term does not create an additional actual variant.
Require both end outside diameters, bores, wall thicknesses, overall length, transition profile, alignment and tolerances. SCH30 needs acceptance against the selected size-specific drawing. Repeated inch ranges for length, height and mounting-hole diameter cannot establish the complete DN transition.
Confirm documents and delivered joining
Agree the applicable B16.9 edition and component/size scope with dimensional evidence. ASTM naming alone does not identify a complete material specification. Obtain the intended document, accepted grade, product form, condition and traceable inspection records rather than assuming a missing standard number.
The two viewed references show dark reducer forms in a workshop and as a pair. Image scale and surface appearance cannot certify supplied size, schedule, grade or manufacture. Confirm the required alignment on the supplied drawing, then establish the delivered joining system and matching-pipe preparation or thread details.
Accept manufacture and operating conditions
Forged naming requires actual production and inspection records independently of installation welding. Polished and corrosion-resistant descriptions do not define a coating system or resistance to every process fluid. Confirm surface requirements against the actual medium and environment.
Low Pressure and Other class/application wording do not provide numerical duty or a selected service. State medium composition, pressure, temperature, cycling, flow and mechanical loads. Review the exact supplied end/wall drawing, complete standards and material/manufacturing records together before accepting the assembled pipe transition.
