This stainless steel pipe elbow page can be used to clarify a 45-degree turn with a DN20 or three-quarter-inch nominal requirement. The requested wall is 2.87 mm with a Schedule 40 designation. Confirm the actual supplied configuration against the piping drawing before matching any angle, size or wall to the selected elbow.
Confirm the turn before choosing dimensions
Mark the required change in direction and centerline radius on the layout. Ask for a drawing of the exact elbow being considered, including its angle and both end dimensions. A general elbow photograph cannot establish these measurements. Identify the required nominal pipe size separately from the actual outside diameter; the selected size label needs a clear relationship to the mating pipe.
Resolve the wall and stainless specification
State whether the 2.87 mm wall and Schedule 40 designation are both mandatory for the same configuration, and identify the governing dimensional standard. Confirm the actual wall at the ends rather than deriving it from a broad schedule range. Choose the exact stainless grade needed for the medium. A general stainless material selection does not establish whether a particular elbow meets a 304 or 316 requirement.
Prepare a complete weld-end enquiry
Describe both connection forms and any required weld preparation, along with the mating pipe walls and dimensional tolerances. If seamless construction is necessary, request confirmation for the selected part rather than relying on its appearance. Include design pressure, operating temperature and the service medium when assessing suitability. Generic pressure-class, resistance or certification labels need supporting scope and documentation before they can qualify this elbow for the intended installation.
