This flange listing addresses pharmaceutical equipment enquiries with grade 321 stainless steel, PN40 and EN 1092-1 references. Its title describes a forged raised face component with a Polished finish. Confirm the actual construction and supplied records before applying those references to an equipment or process connection.

Select the PN40 construction and facing

Choose the intended flange type and obtain the drawing under the applicable EN 1092-1 edition. Define nominal size, raised-face height and diameter, thickness and the relevant bore or closure details. Include connection requirements specific to that type instead of assuming the facing description identifies the whole component.

Check the full bolt pattern against the mating equipment. The table lists four half-inch holes, but this drilling needs verification for the selected design. A broad 1/2–120 inch range is shared by several materials and types; confirm the actual required combination and its applicable standard scope.

Verify grade 321 and surface acceptance

Request the supplied material designation, condition, traceability and required production inspections supporting grade 321. Generic Stainless Steel and separate Alloy Steel choices do not establish those records. PN40 also requires material-dependent pressure-temperature assessment rather than treatment as one universal allowable operating pressure.

Define the measured finish and inspection requirements for the raised face and other relevant surfaces. Polished does not provide roughness values or demonstrate hygienic design, cleanability validation or regulatory approval. Forged wording likewise needs the actual records required by the purchase specification.

Connect the flange with process and cleaning duty

Describe process fluids, cleaning chemicals, contamination controls, pressure, temperature and operating or cleaning cycles. Review the selected material and joint under the equipment acceptance requirements without assuming a sanitary approval or corrosion guarantee. Agree material, dimensional and surface records, marking, preservation, quantity, availability and delivery for the actual ordered design.
