Its ASTM reference remains generic, so the specific material and acceptance requirements must be agreed for the actual order.
Define the fluid and connection requirements
Identify the transported medium and its composition, contaminants and operating conditions. Provide pressure, temperature, cycling and external loads for assessment of the selected pipe and joints. Oil, gas and hydraulic labels do not establish identical compatibility requirements or a common allowable pressure.
Specify the required end arrangement, joint preparation and inspection criteria. Hydraulic applications may also need defined bore finish and cleanliness.
