This ASME B16.9 / ASME A234 WPB SMLS LR 90-degree elbow enquiry starts with a specified pipe bend. Carbon steel and stainless steel alternatives are selectable. Verify the actual manufacturing route, material designation and dimensional requirements before approving the chosen item.
Document the 90-degree bend and pipe interfaces
Confirm the selected angle, centreline radius, centre-to-end dimensions and installation clearance on a drawing. LR does not supply a measured radius or multiplier. The labels 10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, 50 mm and 30 mm need confirmed nominal pipe sizes, outside diameters, wall thicknesses and both-end dimensions.
Choose equal or reducing ends explicitly. Gallery examples and visible markings do not certify actual angle, schedule, radius or grade for every selection. Generic length, height and mounting-hole entries also do not form a complete elbow dimensional map.
Resolve the selected route and exact material designation
SMLS is the seamless enquiry reference, while the actual manufacturing route needs traceable confirmation. Obtain process records before approving the specified route. The Casting entry does not establish a seamless qualification, and appearance cannot certify either route.
Verify the complete material specification and issuer for the ASME A234 WPB wording, with the chosen grade and certificate. Keep the carbon steel WPB enquiry separate from stainless alternatives. Request the complete applicable B16.9 edition and relevant conformity records. Male/Female and NPT entries require an actual end specification; threaded ends need full designation and engagement, while welded ends need separately confirmed preparation and wall match.
Inspection basis for the installed elbow
Provide operating medium, pressure, temperature and connected piping requirements with the selected drawing. Class 125 and Low Pressure wording do not establish fixed working pressure. Painting and flexibility, corrosion, chemical, UV or underground requirements need actual finish/design and exposure evidence. Request material/process traceability with dimensional and end inspection before accepting the elbow for its documented duty.
