This ANSI B16.9 industrial carbon steel tee enquiry targets oil, gas and petrochemical branch connections. Start with the actual process conditions and accepted component identification before selecting the end dimensions or joining requirements.
Set the process basis before accepting the branch
Application names do not approve an actual fluid. Define medium composition, temperature, pressure, cycling and environmental exposure for the complete installed joint. Not Rated supplies no numerical pressure-temperature envelope, so the operating basis needs documented assessment.
Confirm the actual supplied subtype. For tee supply, define run and branch diameters, bore and wall at all three openings, branch orientation, center-to-end measurements and tolerances. Equal needs measured confirmation. Dark three-opening photographs support comparison without proving delivered identity, equal geometry, grade or corrosion performance.
Resolve units and document the selected standard
The two actual TEE variants share the option 1/2' ~ 48'. Obtain explicit accepted units and exact ordered size rather than converting apostrophes or treating the range as separate available sizes. Customized Size and the 0.25-inch mounting-hole entry do not complete the pipe-end drawing.
Agree the required ANSI B16.9 document designation, edition and applicable scope with compliance evidence. The name alone does not establish standard equivalence or certification. Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel are actual alternatives; select an exact grade and product specification backed by heat-traceable material and inspection records.
Accept body manufacture, weld ends and paint separately
Obtain actual production evidence for the ordered body. Butt-weld joining separately needs selected end preparation, compatible pipe walls, welding procedure and inspection acceptance. Round wording does not define complete geometry or certify the manufacturing route.
Specify paint preparation, composition, coverage, thickness and weld-end treatment for the intended exposure. Brand wording does not establish manufacturer identity or origin. Submit process duty, accepted identity and units, complete end drawing, selected standard, material and production evidence and joining/coating criteria so dimensional fit and service suitability can be assessed together.
