This carbon-steel end-cap enquiry links SCH40 with WPB under ASTM A234 for a welded pipe termination. The Cap options and closed-end shapes in the photograph support the cap family. Selection requires a defined opening, cap profile and material package, since generic size choices do not establish the actual wall or qualification of every variant.
Match the cap opening and depth to the pipe end
Identify the selected nominal size, weld-end outside diameter, actual wall, cap depth and overall profile on a dimensioned drawing. Explain what the millimetre labels measure and check the opening against the adjoining pipe. Equal, Hexagon and the mounting-hole field do not define a complete cap profile. Confirm edge preparation and provide enough axial clearance and access for welding and inspection. The photograph cannot establish those measurements or qualify the termination arrangement.
Confirm SCH40 wall and the WPB material package
Connect SCH40 to the selected nominal size and actual wall record instead of treating it as one thickness across the options. Select Carbon Steel for the WPB requirement and request the full ASTM A234 specification, edition and traceable grade records. Stainless Steel and Alloy alternatives need separate exact material assignments. Agree the applicable dimensional requirements and tolerances explicitly because no dimensional standard number is supplied. Verify Forged through manufacturing and inspection records before accepting that route for the chosen cap.
Document finish and completed-termination duty
Define surface preparation, coating coverage and required weld-zone condition beyond Painting. Supply mating-pipe specifications and the fluid, pressure, temperature and corrosion conditions with the joining and inspection procedure. Pipe Class 150 alone does not establish allowable duty. Customized Size also does not prove arbitrary dimensional capability or availability. Acceptance should connect the selected cap/end drawing, size-linked wall and material evidence to the complete welded termination.
