This hex flange bolt enquiry requires confirmation of the selected fastener's head, thread, length and material. Specify the joint and the required surface finish before evaluating a configuration. The aim is to identify one complete fastener specification, including any matching nuts, rather than treating a collection of grade or finish names as interchangeable choices.
Confirm the head and complete thread designation
Request a drawing showing the actual head profile, bearing surface and relevant dimensions. Identify whether the required joint uses a flange-head or another hex-head arrangement. State the thread system, nominal diameter, pitch and tolerance for both the fastener and mating component. A metric label and a UNF designation should not be treated as equivalent without the correct thread specification and dimensional confirmation.
Define length, property class and surface finish
Specify the required bolt length and how it is measured, together with the threaded portion and joint engagement requirement. Name one exact material specification and property class, then request the applicable fastener standard and supporting documentation for that configuration. Define the surface finish separately. Colour or a general photograph of threaded fasteners does not establish a zinc coating, material composition or structural grade.
Clarify the fastener assembly for the joint
Confirm whether nuts are included with the selected fastener, their quantity, and their thread, material and property requirements. Compare the full assembly with the joint drawing and the design requirements. General structural-bolt names do not by themselves establish load suitability for a particular connection. Complete the enquiry with a selected-part drawing and the material, class and finish scope. This allows the head interface, thread engagement and assembly contents to be reviewed together before a final compatibility or load assessment.
