This forged carbon steel fitting is listed for oil and gas pipelines with welding connections. The title identifies an equal tee, but the actual variants identify a reducer. Resolve that difference before committing to a component drawing, end arrangement or material package.
Establish the connection layout and dimensional schedule
Show the required ends and any branch on a drawing, with nominal sizes, wall thickness and tolerances. Equal in the table does not establish whether the supplied component is a tee or a reducer. Confirm overall length, height, installation clearance and the role of any mounting hole.
The 1/2 inch to 110 inch option is a broad range, while the table specifies Metric and customized dimensions. State the exact ordered dimensions and sizing convention. Verify availability for that selection rather than assuming every size in the range can be supplied.
Match the forged material and welding specification
Specify the complete carbon steel designation, condition and applicable material document. The a234wpb option needs allocation to the selected supply rather than automatic assignment to both variants. Obtain heat traceability, forging records and material inspection evidence for the actual component.
Identify the selected edition and dimensional requirements associated with B16.9. Define welding preparation, mating pipe and examination requirements, and clarify whether the customized thread entry applies to any real interface. Agree the meaning of Plain surface, including preparation, protection and acceptance criteria.
Qualify pipeline duty with numerical requirements
Oil and gas wording describes an enquiry context. Provide medium composition, operating pressure and temperature, cycling, corrosion exposure and mechanical loads. High Pressure and an Other class supply no numerical rating. Agree documented material and joint acceptance, supported by the resolved drawing and selected manufacturing, connection, surface and inspection requirements.
