This industrial blind flange listing names stainless steel 316, Class 150 and B16.5, with RTJ Face and ASME Compliant wording. The Stainless Steel blind option is selectable. Confirm the actual material and the proposed facing arrangement before treating the combined title references as an approved closure design.
Verify the proposed RTJ facing
Obtain the selected drawing and applicable standard edition to establish whether the proposed RTJ face is appropriate for that class and size. Do not assume availability, groove geometry or mating compatibility from the title alone. Where applicable, specify the ring and groove requirements with the joint design.
Check nominal size, flange thickness and the complete bolt pattern against the mating component. Four half-inch holes are listed in the table and need confirmation for the selected design. The broad 1/2–120 inch range does not demonstrate that a single standard covers every size or configuration offered.
Confirm grade and pressure-class evidence
Request material documentation supporting grade 316, including the required condition and traceability. Generic Stainless Steel does not independently verify the grade, while Forged and ASME Compliant wording does not provide actual production or conformity records. Agree the inspections required by the purchase specification.
Class 150 is not a universal 150 psi limit. Establish the allowable pressure-temperature requirements for the actual material and selected joint. Confirm the numbered B16.5 specification and edition rather than relying on a general compliance phrase or transferring acceptance to the other selectable materials and flange types.
Define closure duty and inspection scope
Provide the fluid, contaminants, pressure, temperature, cycles and loads relevant to the closure. Review the flange, facing and mating joint under the project requirements. Agree finish criteria beyond Polished, material and dimensional inspections, marking, preservation, availability and delivery. No ring specification, installation torque or service approval is supplied here.
