Blind Flanges for Planned Shutdown Replacement
For a planned shutdown, order the blind flange against the joint already installed on site. Match the drilling, facing, thickness requirement and approved material before comparing delivery offers. RELIA forges and machines flange components, including blind-flange configurations reviewed for the actual connection. This guide shows the measurements and manufacturing checks that prevent a same-size replacement from arriving with the wrong mating interface. The isolation arrangement and return-to-service approval remain part of your site procedure.

RELIA Manufacturing for Replacement Flanges
RELIA forges and machines flange components in China, including blind-flange configurations reviewed against the required connection. For a shutdown buyer, our manufacturing task is to reproduce the accepted sealing interface and drilling while meeting the specified material and closure requirements. Dimensional and pre-shipment checks help you review the replacement before it reaches site. Site isolation procedures and permission to return equipment to service remain separate project responsibilities.

Recover the installed joint before ordering
Build the replacement definition from the installed joint rather than an old photograph alone. Record the nominal size, flange standard, facing, drilling and available identification. A blind flange has a solid centre; it is different from a bored flange or a transport cover.
A carbon-steel blind-flange enquiry in our range lists several Class candidates, including 150, 300 and 600. These are alternatives to select and review, not a single replacement that fits every connection.
Catalogue references support the enquiry. The accepted drawing, material definition and quotation identify the supplied configuration.

Material and closure thickness need a design basis
A familiar outline does not establish closure thickness or material. Use the approved design basis for the duty and the selected flange standard. When an old marking is unreadable, recover the missing information through drawings, reliable records and agreed measurements.
We keep uncertain catalogue terminology out of the final material definition. A pipe-material label attached to a generic flange listing is not enough to establish the material specification of the finished blind flange.

Manufacturing the closed flange profile
The blind-flange blank must support the closed section and the finished sealing surface. Machining establishes the thickness, outside form and face, followed by the accepted drilling pattern. Deburring prevents sharp features from interfering with handling or the joint.
RELIA performs forging and machining; the precise blank route and required material condition are reviewed for the item. This is a component manufacturing process, not a substitute for choosing an isolation arrangement at the plant.

Drilling and facing that match the existing joint
Use a dimensional reference that your site team can compare with the installed connection. For drilling, identify the bolt-circle diameter and hole pattern separately from the outside diameter. For the face, identify the actual facing form and gasket arrangement.
Our product illustration deliberately shows an unbroken central face. Its appearance does not define thickness, Class or material, so the production drawing remains the acceptance reference.

Measurements before the outage
A pre-dispatch dimension report can reduce the risk of discovering a mismatch during the outage. Give each critical feature a clear name and unit, then connect the result to the accepted drawing revision. Review the material documents independently.
The RELIA initial scope covers dimensions, material-document review and pre-shipment condition. Any additional examination or witness requirement is agreed for this specific replacement order.

A replacement record your site can recognise
The replacement file should be usable by maintenance as well as purchasing. Keep the recovered interface information, accepted component drawing and measured results together. An anonymised example can show the record format, while the actual order needs its own acceptance references.
The custom-flange guide covers new drawing development. This shutdown page concentrates on an existing joint and the evidence needed to avoid an incorrect replacement.

Dispatch and receiving checks protect the shutdown
Agree the dispatch and arrival checks around the shutdown need date. The package should protect the sealing surface and clearly identify the replacement part; the receiving team should compare it with the agreed record before the outage begins.
If dimensions or condition differ on arrival, retain the item reference and photographs so the discrepancy can be reviewed against the approved requirement. A requested arrival date belongs in quotation review rather than a generic delivery promise.
