This chemical plant enquiry describes stainless steel pipe for fluid transfer with corrosion-resistant wording. The title says seamless, while the table records ERW. Confirm the actual manufacturing route and selected stainless grade before assessing the pipe for a particular chemical process.
Define the chemical exposure before selecting material
Provide the fluid or mixture, concentration, contaminants, temperature and pressure. Include cleaning media, operating cycles and external exposure where relevant. Stainless steel is a broad family, and the listing does not identify compatibility with every chemical or establish resistance to a specific corrosion mechanism.
Agree the material and joint assessment, corrosion acceptance and any required testing for those conditions. Do not infer a particular stainless grade or chemical qualification from the title. The Non-Alloy table entry also needs clarification through actual chemistry and material documentation.
Resolve the production route and specification
Ask the supplier to reconcile seamless wording with the ERW entry using production and inspection records. Obtain the numbered ASTM specification, edition, actual grade, condition, mechanical properties and traceability. A standard associated with another stainless pipe product should not be assigned automatically.
Clarify cold processing, required heat treatment and weld inspections where applicable. Cold Rolled does not establish passivation, polishing, a protective coating or process cleanliness. Specify the delivered internal and external surface requirements according to the actual chemical duty.
Confirm dimensions and procurement acceptance
Choose an exact diameter, wall and length from the 219–1066 mm diameter field, 6–20 mm thickness entry and 6 m or 12 m options. Define the ±1% tolerance basis, bore, straightness, ovality and end details. Agree tests, actual certificate scope, non-oiled preservation, storage, actual-weight invoicing and delivery confirmation for the selected supply.
