This ASTM A795 red epoxy grooved sprinkler steel pipe enquiry includes Class 150 and fire-fighting title references. The table records Galvanized, so the actual finish needs confirmation. Specify the intended sprinkler system and accepted pipe construction before treating colour, class wording or coating claims as evidence of suitability.
Confirm the red epoxy finish for the A795 item
Ask whether red epoxy, galvanizing or a documented layer arrangement will be supplied. Red appearance alone does not establish coating chemistry or fire-system approval. Agree substrate preparation, internal/external coverage, thickness, cure, adhesion and inspection, plus field-joint treatment and repair requirements.
Request the complete material designation under A795, applicable edition, manufacturing route, condition, heat traceability and certificates. Generic carbon steel and ASTM entries leave that selection incomplete. Clarify Slightly Oiled against the finished coating and protected connection surfaces rather than assuming universal application.
Allocate wall dimensions and the grooved assembly
The three variants offer thickness 1.2 with lengths 12 m, 6 m or 6.4 m. Thickness and outer diameter 150–350 lack stated units. Obtain actual nominal size, bore, outside diameter and wall with units; no schedule is recorded. Assign ±1% to a specific property.
Request the groove profile, dimensions, end preparation, manufacturing method and tolerances. Confirm compatible coupling, gasket and fasteners through accepted system records. The special-pipe and processing-service lists do not establish every proposed operation or prove the ordered grooved connection meets the intended installation requirements.
Document sprinkler duty and the Class 150 basis
Provide medium, pressure, temperature, cycling, exposure and loads. Confirm the applicable rating basis and required fire-system approvals; no fire listing is recorded.
