This SCH40 welded pipe-end cap enquiry offers alloy-steel and carbon-steel material alternatives. The Cap variants and single photograph of domed caps establish the family. A selected cap-to-pipe drawing is needed to connect the requested wall designation, exact material and dimensions to the intended end closure.
Map SCH40 to the pipe and cap drawing
Specify nominal pipe size, outside diameter, actual pipe and cap walls, opening dimensions, overall height and crown or profile. Map SCH40 under the chosen dimensional standard and size, then record measured thickness rather than treating it as a universal wall value. Explain what the millimetre choices measure. Reconcile the imported Elbow name and generic Equal, Hexagon and mounting-hole fields against the cap drawing; none defines the actual opening or closure dimensions.
Choose the alloy or carbon material independently
Select Alloy or Carbon Steel and obtain the complete material specification, edition and traceable grade records. Stainless Steel options require their own assignments. The title supplies no precise alloy grade or numbered fitting standard, so agree those requirements explicitly. Verify Forged through production and inspection evidence. Define Painting through preparation, coating type, coverage and weld-zone condition. The reddish photograph surfaces cannot qualify coating composition, metallurgy or manufacturing route for the selected cap.
Confirm feasible dimensions and welded-closure acceptance
Establish the intended welded construction and match the cap opening and edge preparation to the adjoining pipe. Agree joining procedure, circumferential weld access and inspection records. Provide fluid, pressure, temperature, corrosion and mechanical loads for assessment of the whole cap-and-pipe closure. Pipe Class 150 alone does not establish permissible duty. Confirm feasible dimensions and availability beyond Customized Size, then base acceptance on the selected drawing, material/manufacturing evidence, coating requirements and complete-joint assessment.
