This dished pipe cap enquiry focuses on a stainless-steel pipe-end closure with 304 or 316 and butt-welding requirements. Confirm the selected profile and material before assigning those requirements to an option. The title, Cap variants and bowl-shaped photographs support cap identity despite the original table's Elbow label; the seal-head wording still needs a defined drawing and acceptance basis.
Describe the dished profile for the pipe end
Request the opening diameter, overall depth, crown or profile dimensions and finished wall thickness for the offered cap. Map the millimetre-labelled option to the required nominal pipe size and actual outside diameter. A dished appearance does not establish a specific pressure-vessel head geometry or certification. Show bevel, land and end wall on the same drawing so the butt-weld interface can be checked against the mating pipe and the agreed dimensional tolerances.
Select 304 or 316 with traceable records
State one exact stainless-steel grade and its governing material specification for the chosen model. Alloy and carbon-steel alternatives require their own grade identification. Markings on a photographed cap do not establish the grade, size or wall schedule of all variants. Ask for manufacturing and inspection records before accepting Forged as the actual production route, and define any surface requirements explicitly rather than treating Smooth as a measured finish specification.
Set acceptance for the completed closure
Agree the governing cap dimensional standard, material evidence and inspection criteria without assuming an unlisted designation. Customized Size calls for feasibility and drawing confirmation. Provide the fluid, operating pressure and temperature, corrosion conditions and joining requirements for assessment of the complete welded closure. The Pipe Class 125 field does not establish allowable pressure-temperature duty, while head-code and mounting-hole labels do not qualify cap geometry. A useful enquiry links one dished profile and finished-wall drawing to the exact grade, accepted production records and documented operating conditions.
