Identify the lap and backing components

Ask for a drawing that identifies the backing flange, intended lap or stub end, and the components included in supply. Confirm the required facing and contact geometry rather than selecting from the flange name alone. Any NPT or BSPT requirement should identify the threaded component and its exact end specification separately from the bolted joint.

Match JIS dimensions and rating

Specify the applicable JIS B2220 edition, flange type, nominal size and rating designation. A size choice of None is not a selected dimension. The repeated inch ranges for length, height and mounting-hole diameter cannot replace an approved drawing with bore, outside diameter, thickness, bolt circle, hole count, hole diameter and tolerances.
