A similar flange size does not make two components interchangeable. Identify whether the project needs movement absorption, flexible routing, pipe joining, dismantling space, localized repair or directional flow control.

Published product data may not contain every project value. That does not remove the need to discuss each engineering dimension; it means the final selection must be confirmed against the buyer's actual system.

MediumWater, wastewater, air, steam, chemicals, slurry or another service affects elastomer, liner, metal and sealing choices.
Pressure & temperatureState normal and design conditions, including vacuum, surge or cycling where relevant.

Requirement review

From a requested size to a controlled specification

A useful inquiry connects operating conditions to construction and acceptance. RELIA can review the data already available and identify the remaining items needed for stock matching or custom production.

  • Mark confirmed and provisional values separately.
  • Attach the latest drawing, specification or sample information.
  • Identify documents or inspections required with the order.
  • Keep quotation assumptions visible for later sample or production review.

Common pipeline selection questions

Can a flange size alone identify the correct component?

No. The same nominal size may be available in different flange standards, pressure classes, face-to-face lengths, materials and movement constructions. Provide the complete connection and operating information.

What if the final pressure class is not confirmed yet?

Share the known operating pressure, the adjacent piping or valve class, and clearly mark the requested class as provisional. RELIA can review the relationship, but the project authority must confirm the final design basis.

Can a sample be used when no drawing is available?

A sample can support identification and dimension capture. Wear, compression, corrosion or deformation must be considered before the sample is treated as the manufacturing reference.
