Start with the configuration being supplied, then match the complete joint to its intended operating conditions. Neither the product name nor a polished photograph replaces inspection evidence.

Set the supplied material and production scope

Ask which material applies to the flange body and to any separate backing or support component. Polypropylene and PP choices should be confirmed against the requested supplied specification. Where LF2 compliance is required, request applicable material documentation and traceability for that component before accepting the order.

Clarify the manufacturing route and product condition. Forged and mould wording may concern different components, so the quotation should identify the relevant production and inspection requirements. Define polishing as an agreed finish rather than a guarantee of corrosion resistance or sealing performance.

Complete the flange interface drawing

Specify the flange dimensional standard, edition, nominal size and type. A350 LF2 naming alone does not define the complete drilling pattern. Size None is not a nominal-size selection, and repeated inch ranges cannot replace the required bore, outside diameter, thickness, bolt circle, hole count, hole diameter and tolerances.

Agree the mating-face geometry and gasket requirements. If NPT or BSPT threads are needed, identify the threaded part and end details separately from the bolted connection. This keeps the purchase specification focused on the actual assembly.

Approve the joint for the operating duty

Provide the medium, pressure, temperature, cycling and external loads for the proposed water, drainage, fire-protection, natural-gas or petroleum application. Establish the accepted material-dependent rating basis for any Class 150 requirement; low-pressure wording supplies no numerical limit. Review mating parts, fasteners, support and assembly together.
