This forged flange enquiry combines stainless and carbon steel with Plate Flat and ASME Weld Neck references. The actual options identify generic Flange variants rather than a selected form or facing. Clarify the intended construction and the meaning of Flat before treating the title as a complete flange specification.
Define Plate Flat and Weld Neck on a section drawing
Ask whether Flat describes the body form, a requested flat face or another detail. It does not automatically establish a face designation. A weld-neck request needs the actual neck profile, bore, wall match and pipe-end preparation documented. A plate-form request needs its attachment and dimensions established separately. The reviewed photos show yellow-toned open-centre flanges without proving either a supplied weld-neck design or the material and coating.
Identify the full ASME requirement and flange interface
ASME needs a complete designation and edition; no numbered standard is established here. Explain the nominal-size convention for the millimetre choices and Customized Size. Record the outside diameter, thickness, bore, bolt circle, hole count and diameter, then the exact facing and required finish. Equal, Hexagon and the mounting-hole value do not complete this interface. Confirm the mating flange, gasket and bolting with the actual pipe attachment.
Separate material choice from production and duty evidence
Select one exact stainless or carbon steel grade with traceable material documents. Alloy alternatives need their own requirements; colour and photographic markings cannot qualify metallurgy. Verify Forged from production records and define the finish beyond Smooth. The body Elbow entry does not create an elbow option. Establish Pipe Class 150's standard, unit and material/temperature basis, then assess the flange and completed joints under the intended fluid, pressure, temperature, corrosion and mechanical loads.
